It is not the first time the gun-dealing family has run afoul of the law in cases involving the mistreatment of children.Patriarch Will Hayden, father of Stephanie Ford, was arrested in August after he was accused of molesting a young girl.In addition to his charges in East Baton Rouge—from two different alleged victims—two females came forward to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.Hayden has been charged in Livingston with aggravated rape and indecent behavior with a juvenile.Hayden, of Greenwell Springs, has pleaded not guilty to all charges. In addition to the 14-year-old rape victim, Hayden has been accused by his daughter, fellow former “Sons of Guns” star Stephanie Hayden-Ford, of molesting her when she was a child.
State District Judge Mike Erwin recently postponed the East Baton Rouge Parish trial at the request of Hayden’s attorney, Bo Rougeou, who cited a scheduling conflict. Also, both sides are working out the logistics of having a 14-year-old prosecution witness, an alleged rape victim, testify outside the presence of the jury via closed-circuit television. Hayden-Ford and her husband face their own child abuse charges for how they disciplined Hayden-Ford’s child from a previous relationship.
The boy was interviewed and told authorities Kris Ford struck him with a belt that was possibly leather while his mother was in the room.
Bond was set at ,000 for each, according to jail records.
It has been widely reported that the charges stem from accusations made by Hayden’s younger daughter. Phil she spoke openly about the sexual abuse of a girl who she referred to as her sister.
Ford said her father once came into her bedroom, drunk and forced her shirt off and touched her chest inappropriately. Once that happened I jumped back and he just left and he never touched me again like that,” she said, adding that she was depressed and avoided her father after the incident and carried knives with her.
I asked her about the recent family drama that has surrounded their business, the current events at Red Jacket Firearms (RJF), and her plans for 2015.
